If an FIR is registered under the cognizable offences of the Indian Penal Code as well as for the offence as prescribed under the Drugs & Cosmetics Act, the police is fully competent to investigate the case - A raid was conducted in the house of the petitioner where two persons were found stocking label on the bottles of the medicine and two drums of 20 Kg containing yellow water in one of the drums and plain water in another drum were also found—the High Court opined that if an FIR is registered under the cognizable offences of the Indian Penal Code as well as for the offence as prescribed under the Drugs & Cosmetics Act, the police is fully competent to investigate the case—order of cognizance not interfered—Petition dismissed.
