Chloroquine Sulphate

 

Prophylactic,300 mg once weekly; therapeutic,initial dose, 600 mg followed by a single dose of 300 mg after 6 to 8 hrs and then by a single dose of 300 mg daily for the next 2 to 4 days & in

hepatic amoebiasis 600 mg daily for 5 to 7 days folloved by 300 mg to 450 mg daily or twice a week for a week for 2 weeks or longer

 

By im inj. 160 to 200 mg repeated intervals of 12 hrs until oral therapy is possible as Antimalarial and in hepatic amoebiasis

 

Chlorpheniramine Maleate

 

4 to 16 mg daily, in divided doses

10 to 20 mg, by sc or im inj. Repeated if required; maximum 40 mg in 24 hrs. By slow iv inj. over 1 minute, 10 to 20 mg diluted in the syringe with 5 to 10 ml of blood.

Chlorpromazine HCl

 

As antipsychotic, 75 to 300 mg daily, in divided doses; As antiemetic, 10 to 25 mg every 4 to 6 hrs.

As antipsychotic, by im inj. 25 to 50 mg. As antiemetic, by deep im inj. 25 mg initially followed by 25 to 50 mg every 3 to 4 hrs until necessary.

Chlorpropamide

 

100 to 500 mg daily.

 

Chlorthalidone

 

50 to 200 mg daily.

 

Cholera Vaccine

 

 

For adults and children over 10 years, by sc inj., initial dose, 0.5 ml; second dose, 1.0 ml after an interval of 4 to 6 weeks.

For children 2 to 10 years, initial dose 0.3 ml; second dose 0.3 ml.

For children 1 to 2 years, initial dose, 0.2 ml; second dose 0.2ml.

Chorionic Gonadotrophin

 

 

By im inj, 500 to 5000 units twice weekly or in accordance with the needs and response of the patient.

Ciprofloxacin

 

 

100 to 200 mg twice daily by infusion.

Ciprofloxacin HCl

Cisplastin

 

 

By iv infusion, 15 to 20 mg per sq. m. of body surface daily for 5 days.

Clofazimine

For leprosy, for previously untreated patients, 100 mg 3 times weekly;

For sulphone- resistant patients, 100 mg 6 times weekly. For the suppression of lepra reactions, 200 mg daily.

 

Clonidine HCl

 

50 to 100mcg thrice daily increased gradually according to the needs & response of the patient; maximum daily dose 1.2 mg.

Cloxacillin Sodium

Dexamethasone

Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate

 

 

In the treatment of adrenal insufficiency, by im or slow iv or infusion, 0.5 to 10 mg. In shock, by iv inj, or infusion, 2 to 6 mg per kg body weight, repeated if necessary after 2 to 6 hrs. In cerebral oedema, by iv inj., 10 mg initially, then 4 mg by im inj. every 6 hrs as required for 2 to 10 days.

Dextromethorphan HCl

600 mg to 1.2 gm daily, in divided doses, after food.

 

Imipramine HCl.

 

50 to 150 mg daily, in divided doses.

 

Indomethacin

 

50 to 200 mg daily, in divided doses, with food

 

Isoniazid

 

300 mg daily or upto 1 gm twice weekly.

 

Isoprenaline HCl.

 

 

By iv infusion, 0.5 to 2 mcg per minute, usually administered after dilution with Dextrose Inj.

Isoprenaline Sulphate

 

5 to 20 mg daily.

 

Isoxuprine HCl.

 

As vasodilator, 20 mg 4 times daily;

As vasodilator ,by im inj. 5 to 10 mg upto 4 times daily;

By infusion, initially 100 mcg per minute, increased to 500 mcg per minute if required

As uterine relaxant, by iv infusion, initially 200 mcg to 300 mcg per minute gradually increased to 500 mcg per minute until labor is arrested; subsequently by im inj 10 mg every 3 hrs for 24 hrs, then every 4 to 6 hrs for 48 hrs; then orally, 20 mg 4 times daily.

Ispaghula Husk

 

3 to 5 gm.

 

Kanamycin

 

 

By im inj. the equivalent of 500 mg to 1 gm of Kanamycin daily, in divided doses

By slow iv infusion, 15 to 30 mg per kg body weight daily, in divided doses, every 8 to 12 hrs.

Ketamine HCl.
