DCGI alerts for Spurious drugs moving in the market

Drugs Controller General (India), Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi in a recent communiqué to all State Drugs Controllers has intimated that in a random test Ciprofloxacin 500 mg Tablets, B. No. 154V, Dexamethasone 5 mg Tablets, B.No. 145 V, Both Manufactured by British Pharma Laboratories, Gujrat are found to contain no active ingredient. He further intimates that Hydrogen Peroxide Solution, B.No. 001 Manufactured By-Medismith< Bangalore, Ampicillin 250 mg Capsules, B. NO. 5604, Manufactured By-Economin Pharma, Mumbai, Paracetamol Syrup, B.No. SP 001, Manufactured By- Sinclair Pharma contain no active ingredient He also intimate that Ketamine Hydrochloride Injection has to be used 3 to 5 time more to make a patient unconscious instead of one Injection of 10 mg.
